FAQ
Short answers about setup, workflow, quality, legal and support.
What is Typelense?
Typelense is an AI product photography platform for fashion and e-commerce. Upload garments, choose a model and pose, optionally a background, and get consistent, realistic product images for your shop, social media and ads.
Who is Typelense for?
For D2C brands, marketplace sellers, agencies and studios that need large volumes of images produced quickly, consistently and cost-effectively: campaign visuals, on-model, ghost mannequin, flat-lay upgrades and creative variations.
What does a typical generation look like?
- Upload garments (top, bottom or set)
- Select a model (from the gallery or your brand model)
- Lock the pose (the pose remains 1:1 unchanged)
- Choose a background (studio, location, gradient or your own upload)
- Render and review variants (series supported)
Will the pose really remain unchanged?
Yes. The selected pose is kept 1:1. Only clothing and background change, which is ideal for catalog comparability.
Which file formats and quality should I upload?
PNG, JPG or WEBP. Recommended: clean cutouts or clear flat-lay or on-hanger photos, one garment view per file, minimal wrinkles and reflections, no collages. Higher resolution means better edges and detail.
What aspect ratios and resolutions do I get?
Common ratios: 1:1, 4:5, 3:4, 2:3, 9:16, ideal for shops, social media and ads. Project-wide defaults are configurable. The resolution depends on your plan: standard, 2K (Pro) or 4K (Advanced).
How accurate is garment fidelity (logos, patterns, fabrics)?
Very high, especially with clean input photos. Best results come with even lighting, visible texture and minimal compression artifacts. Extremely fine patterns (moiré), highly reflective or transparent fabrics are inherently more challenging.
Is underwear or swimwear allowed?
Yes, provided it's non-explicit and focused on the product. No minors, no sexualized content. We moderate violations of our guidelines.
What about watermarks and AI markings?
Paid plans come without a visible Typelense watermark; images from the free plan carry one. Some underlying models embed invisible watermarks or signatures. We do not remove or tamper with such signals.
Who owns the generated images?
Generally you do, provided you hold the rights to the inputs (garments, references, logos). Usage rights depend on your plan: a personal license with Starter, a commercial license from Pro upwards. Please also respect the license terms of any sources used in your project.
Where is data processed and how long is it retained?
Data is stored only as long as the service needs it (rendering, review, re-use) or as agreed by contract. You can delete assets and jobs at any time. For Enterprise there are options for shortened retention, customer-specific data residency and a DPA.
How are credits and pricing calculated?
Billing is per generated image: 1 credit = 1 image. Failed jobs are not charged. See Plans & Credits for plans and prices; volume and enterprise offers are available.
What can I do if quality or fit isn't right?
- Improve the input: higher resolution, one garment per file, clean edges
- Check the pose: avoid heavy self-occlusion; the pose stays fixed 1:1
- Simplify the background: use studio or gradient for catalog sets
- More variants: 4 to 8 variants improve the hit rate
If you're stuck, send us the job ID and an example at hello@typelense.io and we'll debug it with you.
How do I ensure series consistency (catalog look)?
Define project presets (pose set, lighting, background, ratio) and use uniform inputs per category. Repeat the presets across all products in the series.
Which compliance topics do you cover (EU AI Act, data protection)?
We operate with privacy by design, provide a DPA, role-based access control and content moderation. For Enterprise, additional controls such as audit logs, data residency and penetration tests are available on request.
Do you offer enterprise features (SLA, SSO, roles)?
Yes. SLA, SSO (SAML/OIDC), fine-grained roles and permissions, dedicated environments, custom quotas and support channels are available.
How do I reach support?
In the app via Help → Support, or by email at hello@typelense.io. Enterprise customers can also use a shared Slack channel. Please include your project or job ID.
